The discussions between the Celtics and Clippers for Kevin Garnett are "probably" dead.
It's not a big surprise. Garnett has really just been a throw-in player for the Clippers to get Doc Rivers. The 37-year-old forward has 17 years experience and it's possible that he could look to join a contender instead of a rebuilding Boston team.

The trade involving the Celtics and Clippers for DeAndre Jordan has become a second priority for the two teams.
The Clippers have shifted their focus to just getting Doc Rivers and seem unlikely to give up more than a first-round pick. The Celtics have been reportedly trying to get Eric Bledsoe, but since he remains one of the best backups in the NBA, the Clippers are justifiably unwilling to acquiesce. Jordan doesn't really create his own shot and isn't much of a stand-alone asset.

Marc Stein said in a radio interview recently that the Rockets and Mavericks are both in play to acquire free agent Dwight Howard.
Stein says the Rockets are ahead of the Mavericks in terms of being able to persuade Howard, but that a face to face meeting with Mark Cuban could change things. Other reports suggest that Howard will stick with the Lakers. The 'summer of Dwight' is just getting started.

Rajon Rondo and Doc Rivers reportedly nearly got into a fist fight when Rondo dropped an F-bomb in a team meeting at some point in the past, according to a report from Sheridanhoops.com.
We don't know when or where it happened, but it could be another piece to the puzzle that suggests that Rivers no longer wants to coach the Celtics. It also might not have been a big deal and something that just happened in the heat of the moment. In any case, Rivers will meet with Danny Ainge this weekend, while the Clippers continue to try to find a way to land the coach. We should know more about his future soon.
