The article features extensive interviews with Allen, and nowhere is it suggested that he could return soon -- Ray basically laments the loss of his routine and typical game-day schedule. He will need surgery after the playoffs, and part of the problem is bone spurs, so Celtics' fans should consider him 'out indefinitely' until we hear otherwise.

Report: Stoudemire thinks he can play Sunday
Amare Stoudemire (hand) said there is a "great chance" he'll play on Sunday in Game 4 against the Heat.
Let's not get too excited here, as a lot can happen between now and Sunday for STAT. He had minor surgery and his hand was reportedly squirting blood, and Stoudemire had previously been slapped with the "doubtful" tag for Game 4 on Tuesday. For what it's worth, the Knicks continue to list him as doubtful for Sunday's game.
