The Philadelphia 76ers have acquired G/F Sam Young from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for the rights to 2005 draft pick Ricky Sanchez.
The Grizzlies were shopping the swingman and the Sixers were looking to add depth on the wing, so this deal makes sense for both sides. Young is a solid defender and should be a decent role player for the Sixers going forward, but don't look for any fantasy value here. The first domino of deadline day has fallen.

Yahoo! is reporting that the Pacers are set to acquire G Leandro Barbosa from the Raptors, and the Star's Mike Wells adds that it's for a second-round pick.
The Pacers already have a logjam brewing at point guard between Darren Collison and George Hill, while Paul George should be locked into all the minutes he can handle at shooting guard, as the future of the franchise. Barbosa's value takes a hit in Indy, while guys like DeMar DeRozan and Linas Kleiza should see more touches in Toronto. Perhaps the biggest impact here is that it likely means the Pacers will no longer be making a run at Chris Kaman.

Adrian Wojnarowki is reporting that the Blazers and Nets are in advanced talks on a deal that would send Gerald Wallace to the Nets.
Considering they currently start DeShawn Stevenson at small forward, this is a big move for the Nets, who would have a starting five next year of Deron Williams, MarShon Brooks, Wallace, Kris Humphries and Brook Lopez. Of course, Wallace is at the tail end of his career, but should still have a few solid seasons left in his banged up body. The move would also allow Wesley Matthews to start at shooting guard in Portland, with Nicolas Batum sliding over to his natural small forward position.

Jermaine O'Neal has been "angling" for a contract buyout, sources tell Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Perhaps O'Neal's wrist issue isn't as serious as it seemed. O'Neal apparently wants a buyout because he has "strong interest" in joining the Heat. The Celtics are trying to trade him ahead of the 3 p.m. ET deadline, but will find an extremely soft market.
