      Srecan rodjendan Aggeru legendi.

Liverpool could still face a hefty fine or a suspended points deduction if they are found guilty of tapping up Clint Dempsey, the former Fulham player, during the summer.
Au jbt, taman krenulo dobro i sada nam preti oduzimanje bodova zbog jbenog Dempsija...
Evo celog teksta koga ne mrzi da cita...

Tom Werner, the Liverpool chairman, issued a personal apology on Friday to Mohamed Al Fayed, his counterpart at Craven Cottage, persuading him to drop his complaint to the Premier League over the affair.
Werner admitted that his club’s behaviour had been “unprofessional,” a sentiment echoed in a letter sent by Ian Ayre, the managing director, to Alistair Mackintosh, Fulham’s chief executive. Liverpool have now issued eight apologies in the past year.
On this occasion, the move may backfire, though, in an episode that is threatening to stray into omnishambles territory for Liverpool.
Apologising could be seen as an admission of guilt at having contravened the Premier League’s rules on illegal approaches to players; so, too, Ayre’s subsequent letter, which is believed to have pledged that Liverpool would seek to improve their future approach to transfer dealings.
Both will be examined closely by the Premier League board at a meeting early in the New Year to establish if its rules have been broken. Although the board has limited powers of sanction — nothing greater than a £25,000 fine — it could refer the matter to an independent regulatory panel, which could levy a far harsher financial punishment or even, if the case is deemed egregious enough, hit Liverpool with a suspended points deduction similar to that meted out to Chelsea over the Ashley Cole affair.
“Liverpool chairman Tom Werner apologised personally to Mohamed Al Fayed, stating that his club were wholly responsible for unprofessional behaviour toward Fulham and emphasised his regret for the entire episode,” a statement on the West London club’s website read.
“In a letter from Liverpool to Fulham’s CEO Alistair Mackintosh, Tom Werner’s praise of the magnanimous gesture from the chairman was reiterated, as was the club’s assurance that the conduct of Liverpool was simply not acceptable. The chairman decided that this sincere action was enough, and as a gesture of goodwill, instructed that all complaints against them be dropped.”
Fulham first lodged a complaint with the Premier League after a website owned by Fenway Sports Group (FSG), Liverpool’s parent company, erroneously claimed in August that Dempsey had signed for the Anfield side. That was followed by lavish praise for Dempsey from Brendan Rodgers, the Liverpool manager, which Fulham believed unsettled the player. Liverpool offered to pay £3 million for Dempsey, who moved on transfer deadline day to Tottenham Hotspur for twice that sum.
Werner’s act of contrition came after Liverpool were contacted by the Premier League’s lawyers as part of an investigation into the affair and was designed to put the matter to bed. Should they be punished it would add to growing concerns over their off-pitch management under FSG, after two years that have included signing Andy Carroll for £35 million, then allowing the striker to leave on loan with no cover, hiring and firing a director of football, failing to appoint a chief executive and the embarrassment of the way the Luis Suárez affair was handled.

                        • Inside Liverpool: Signings of Sturridge & Butland key to Rodgers' Anfield revival
Goal.com reveals how Theo Walcott and Thomas Ince remain targets for the January transfer window, while Stewart Downing and Pepe Reina are likely to be sold to fund the pursuit

SUAREZ AND STURRIDGE TO SHARE CENTRE-FORWARD ROLE

Liverpool's plans to right the wrongs of their late August transfer business are increasingly advanced.

Brendan Rodgers' priority is to increase his attacking options and the best part of £20 million has been earmarked for Chelsea's Daniel Sturridge and Blackpool’s Thomas Ince.

Rodgers remains keen on Arsenal contract rebel Theo Walcott although Liverpool face strong competition for the England international from the likes of Chelsea and the two Manchester clubs should he fail to agree new terms at Emirates Stadium.

Pepe Reina and Stewart Downing are the two senior players most likely to be offloaded to help fund the new arrivals, who could also include England goalkeeper Jack Butland.

Goal.com understands that Liverpool's swoop for Sturridge has progressed this week as the Merseysiders close in on an agreement with Chelsea.

It is believed that Rodgers' plan is to use the versatile attacker in a fluid attacking system headed by Anfield talisman Luis Suarez.

"Sturridge wants to go down the middle rather than out wide but he will not be permanently handed the No.9 position that he craves," a Liverpool **** told Goal.com. "Brendan wants fluid strikers who can play in a variety of positions. You will not see Suarez or Sturridge playing up front all the time.

"It will be a case of keeping the defenders guessing by the players interchanging positions, from game to game and often within the matches themselves. That's why Andy Carroll was loaned out, because he can only play one role. Brendan likes forwards who can play wide or through the middle."

LIVERPOOL WANT BUTLAND TO BE THEIR JOE HART

Liverpool are frontrunners in the chase to sign Jack Butland in January as they eye a replacement for Arsenal target Pepe Reina.

**** have told Goal.com that the Merseyside club believe Butland "can be their Joe Hart".

This is a reference to how Manchester City snapped up the England No.1 from lower league Shrewsbury Town as a 19-year-old - the same age as Butland is now – and nurtured him into one of the finest goalkeepers in Europe.

Liverpool are wary of overpaying for potential, and will not be held to ransom, but there is a growing appreciation among club scouts that the Birmingham City keeper is an outstanding young talent.

The Merseysiders are likely to offer a structured deal, with an initial payment of around £5m supplemented by performance-related add-ons.

                          COATES TO BE LOANED OUT

Liverpool are ready to loan out defender Sebastian Coates in the New Year.

The 2011 summer signing has started only five league matches for the club and is behind first-choice centre-back pairing Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel, as well as Jamie Carragher, Martin Kelly and Andre Wisdom in the pecking order.

Goal.com understands that Brendan Rodgers does not want to sell the Uruguayan but accepts that the 22-year-old needs playing time to develop.

Coates is expected to be loaned out in January to a club on the Continent until the end of the season.

RODGERS WARY OF PLUNDERING SWANSEA AGAIN

Like many managers, Brendan Rodgers went with the tried and trusted when he began his summer overhaul of Liverpool.

But Goal.com has learned that senior Anfield figures are wary about signing another player he managed at Swansea.

Rodgers is a big admirer of Swans goalkeeper Michel Vorm and centre-back Ashley Williams but they are unlikely to follow Joe Allen and Fabio Borini, the two marquee purchases of the last window, to Merseyside.

In addition to the players and Rodgers, Liverpool have stockpiled their backroom staff with former Swansea men, including No.2 Colin Pascoe, head of performance Glen Driscoll, match analyst Chris Davies and fitness coach Ryland Morgans.

Može, itekako. Nije pretjerano velika cijena za provjerenog igrača u Premiershipu. Moramo pobijediti konkurenciju - Arsenal i vjerujem da i Demba može biti naš u januaru.
