    SWANSEA CITY - NEWCASTLE UNITED 1 : 0


    Newcastle United je nesrećno izgubio na Liberty Stadium-u od Swansea City rezultatom 1:0. Jedini gol na meču postigao je rezervista Luke Moore u 85. minutu utakmice.

    U prvom delu igre, Newcastle United nije delovao kao ekipa koja može da pobedi na ovoj utakmici.

    Sa druge strane, ekipa Swansea je delovala sasvim solidno i Steven Taylor je morao loptu da izbija sa gol linije posle dobrog udarca Michu-a.

    U nastavku meča, odnosno u uvodnim minutima drugog poluvremena, golman Newcastle-a Elliot je u dva navrata odlično reagovao zaustavivši udarce domaćih igrača.

    Tek tada je Newcastle United počeo da igra. Odlične prilike za gol imali su Cisse, Gouffran, Debuchy i Sissoko. Možda i najbolju priliku imao je Cabaye posle udarca sa distance, ali je njegov udarac odbarni golman Swansea Michel Vorm.

    I kada se činilo da meč ide ka remiju, nastupio je rezervista domaćih Luke Moore. Na solidan centaršut sa levog boka bivše svrake Routledge-a, u šesnaestercu nisu najbolje reagovali Yanga-Mbiwa i Santon i lopta nekako dospeva do Moore-a. On je u situaciji jedan na jedan sa Elliot-om mirno reagovao i poslao loptu u nebranjeni deo mreže, što je bilo dovoljno za 1:0 u 85. minutu meča.

      ANZHI MAKHACHALA - NEWCASTLE UNITED


      U četvrtak u okviru Europa League, Newcastle United putuje na megdan Ruskoj ekipi Anzhi Makhackala. Iako je Anzhi iz Ruske oblasti Dagestan, UEFA je naredila Ruskom klubu da svoje mečeve igra u Moskvi zbog nemira i nestabilne situacije u Dagestanu. Tako će Anzhi meč sa Newcastle United-om igrati na Luzhniki Stadium (veštačka trava) sa početkom u 5pm (GMT), odnosno 18h (CET). Newcastle United će imati podršku oko 70 svojih navijača.

      NUFC: U Rusiju je otputovalo 19 igrača: Alnwick, Ameobi, Anita, Ben Arfa, Bigirimana, Cabaye, Campbell, Elliot, Gosling, Haidara, Marveaux, Obertan, Perch, Santon, Simpson, Sissoko, Steven Taylor, Tiote, Mapou..

        ANZHI I NEWCASTLE UNITED REMIZIRALI

        ANZHI MAKHACHALA - NEWCASTLE UNITED 0 : 0


        Newcastle United je napravio vrlo dobar rezultat u Moskvi, remizirajući sa Anzhi-em rezultatom 0:0. Revanš meč se igra za nedelju dana.

        U prvom poluvremenu golmani oba tima su bili gotovo nezaposleni. Jedini priliku za domaće imao je Samuel Eto'o koji je pokušao udarcem sa dpreko trideset metara ali je Elliot odbranio njegov udarac.

        U drugom delu igre posle sat vremena igre, ponovo je pokušao Eto'o ali ponovo je Rob Elliot bio siguran na svom golu, odbranivši mu udarac. Posle kornera i Oleg Shatov je pokušao volejom sa ivice šesnaesterca da zatrese mrežu svraka ali u tome nije uspeo.

        Tada se Newcastle United oslobodio pritiska domaćih i na temperaturi ispod nule zamalo zagrejao srca svojih navijača. Najbolju priliku za gol imao je povratnik u redove crno belih Hatem Ben Arfa koji je sa petnaestak metara pokušao da lobuje golmana domaćih Gabulov-a, ali ovaj se nije dao prevariti, ostao je na nogama i uhvatio mu "živu" loptu.

        Do kraja meča crno beli su pokušali udarcima sa distance da savladaju Gabulov-a ali u tome nisu uspeli. Udarce su oprobali Vurnon Anita i Sylvain Marveaux.

          FABRICIO COLOCCINI SLOMIO DVE KOSTI U LEĐIMA


          U pokušaju da makazicama izbaci loptu u polje u meču protiv Southampton-a, kapiten Newcastle United-a Fabricio Coloccini je slomio dve kosti u leđima. To će ga udaljiti sa terena šest do osam nedelja i moguće je da Coloccini-a više nećemo gledati u dresu Newcastle United-a.

          Coloccini se trenutno nalazi u Argentini gde će ostati desetak dana. Posle odmora u Argentini, vraća se u Newcastle gde ga očekuje rehabilitacija.

                IGRA SE DO POSLEDNjEG SUDIJSKOG ZVIŽDUKA

                NEWCASTLE UNITED - STOKE CITY 2 : 1


                "Samo uporni uspevaju". Ovo kao da je moto ovog novog "Francuskog" Newcastle United-a.

                Prvo poluvreme nije bilo preterano zanimljivo. Newcastle United je tri puta pripretio i to preko Gouffran-a koji je bio neprecizan sa šest metara, Jonas-a koji je šutirao sa dvadesetak metara, pored stative gostujućeg gola i Cabaye-a koji je oprobao svoj udarac sa distance.

                Međutim, u drugom poluvremenu gledali smo mnogo zanimljiviji fudbal.

                Uprkos tome što je Cheik Tiote potpuno nepotrebno faulirao u svom šesnaestercu Jonathan Walters-a, koji je bio precizan sa bele tačke, dovevši tako Stoke City u vođstvo od 0:1 u 67. minutu, igrači u crno belim dresovima su smogli snage, pokazali karakter, postigli dva gola do kraja utakmice, samim tim i pobedili goste rezultatom 2:1.

                Prvo je u 72. minutu Yohan Cabaye izjednačio rezultat na 1:1 prelepim golom iz slobodnog udarca sa 18 metara, pogodivši loptom prečku Begovićevog gola, da bi se ta lopta od zemlje vratila pod prečku, dirajući mrežu.

                Kada se činilo da će se meć završiti podelom bodova, rezervista Marveaux je loptom koja ima oči pronašao Papiss Cisse-a koji se nalazio na ivici peterca u gostujućem šesnaestercu. Cisse je levom nogom primio loptu tako da mu je ona odskočila na volej i mirno je istom nogom zakucao u mrežu Begovićevog gola, za konačnih 2:1 u 92. minutu. Gosti su tražili ofsajd, ali TV snimak je pokazao da ofsajda nije ni bilo.

                Vredi napomenuti da su za Newcastle United u Premier League debitovali mladi Adam Campbell i Massadio Haidara.

                  PAPISS CISSE ODVEO NEWCASTLE MEĐU OSAM NAJBOLjIH U EUROPA LEAGUE

                  NEWCASTLE UNITED - ANZHI MAKHACHKALA 1 : 0


                  Newcastle United je golom Papiss Cisse-a u 93. minutu pobedio Ruski Anzhi rezultatom 1:0 i tako ušao među osam najboljih u Europa League.

                  Veoma tvrd meč viđen je na St James' Park-u sa vrlo malo prilika na obe strane.

                  Gosti su u prvom poluvremenu imali jednu vrlo izglednu priliku preko Ahmedov-a, dok je u jednoj situaciji i Samuel Eto'o mogao bolje da reaguje.

                  Sa druge strane, Svrake su imali dobro priliku posle udarca Marveaux-a.

                  U drugom poluvremenu Steven Taylor je mogao i bolje da reaguje prilikom udarca sa pet metara, ali mu je golman Anzhi-a Gabulov odbranio udarac.

                  Eto'o je imao vrlo dobru priliku u situaciji kada je šutirao gotovo iz mrtvog ugla sa pet metara, ali Elliot i to brani.

                  U 55. minutu igrač gostiju Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez je dobio drugi žuti, odnosno crveni karton zbog grubog starta nad Haidara-om. Samo nekoliko minuta kasnije Anita je ostao na terenu, mada je i on vrlo lako mogao da dobije crveni karton zbog takođe grubog starta nad Zhirkov-im.

                  U 88. minutu utakmice Mbark Boussoufa iz slobodnog udarca pogađa prečku Elliot-ovog gola.

                  Kada se činilo da meč u produžetke, u 93. minutu utakmice na prelep pas Marveaux-a sa ivice šesnaesterca, iskosa sa desne strane, glavom sa pet metara loptu u mrežu zakucava Papiss Cisse za konačnih 1:0. Cisse je gol proslavio kao Ketsbaia (šutiranjem reklama). Veliko slavlje 45.000 navijača Newcastle United-a na St James' Park-u.

                      U četvrtini finala Europa League igraće Benfica i Newcastle United. Prvi meč se igra na Estádio da Luz u četvrtak 4. aprila, dok je revanš meč na St James' Park-u, takođe u četvrtak 11. aprila.

                        MARK HALSEY JE MICKEY MOUSE SUDIJA

                        WIGAN ATHLETIC - NEWCASTLE UNITED 2 : 1



                        Poraz Newcastle United-a na DW Stadium od Wigan Athletic-a rezultatom 2:1 ostao je u senci jednog od najgorih startova u istoriji fudbala. Naime, Callum McManaman je startovao otvorenim đonom na koleno mladog Massadio Haidara-e, pokidavši mu ligamente kolena. Sudija Mark Halsey nije čak ni prekunuo igru, niti McManaman-u pokazao žuti karton.

                        Poveo je Wigan u 18. minutu preko Jean Beasejour-a, koji je posle greške Santon-a mirno plasirao loptu u nebranjeni deo mreže Elliot-ovog gola, za 1:0.

                        Na poluvremenu John Carver je pokušao da dođe do McManaman-a, ali se uzgred sukobio i sa pomoćnim trenerom domaćih Barrow-om. Halsey je obojici pokazao crvene kartone, tako da su nastavak meča gledali sa tribina.

                        U nastavku igre, Cisse je imao vrlo dobru priliku, ali je bio sebičan, umesto da proigra tri svoja saigrača na petercu.

                        U 72. minutu svojim prvim golom za klub Davide Santon izjednačava rezultat na 1:1. Santon je šutirao, iskosa sa desnog boka sa desetak metara. Činilo se da svrake mogu i do pobede.

                        Međutim, u 90. minutu posle jednog kornera za Wigan, u petercu gostiju rukom je igrao Figueroa. Dok su se igrači Newcastle United-a bunili, Elliot je pokušao loptu da izbije u polje, međutim, pogodio je Arouna Koné-a, koji je sa jednog metra loptu ubacio u mrežu, za konačnih 2:1.                           NEWCASTLE UNITED STATEMENT

                          There has been significant public reaction from media, industry figures and supporters to the tackle made by Wigan Athletic's Callum McManaman on Massadio Haidara during the first-half of our Premier League fixture on Sunday, 17th March, in particular comments made by Wigan's owner Dave Whelan.

                          I have the greatest respect for Dave, who has been in the game for a long time as a professional footballer and now owner. I am also aware that Dave's career was cut short due to injury.

                          I am therefore disappointed and surprised by the comments he made yesterday, in particular his assertion that the tackle by Callum McManaman "was a fair challenge".

                          It is our strongly held opinion that the tackle on Massadio was extremely dangerous and is the type of challenge that has the potential to cause serious harm and such was the force, and reckless and dangerous nature of the challenge, even end a player's career.

                          It was not a fair challenge. This view is shared by countless former players, referees and well-respected media commentators. Indeed it appears to be only Dave Whelan who takes a contrary view.

                          We are disappointed to learn that the FA is not going to charge the Wigan player. We were first notified of this decision by a national media outlet who received notification from the FA confirming the decision. This was prior to anyone from the FA having the courtesy to contact the Club to let us know.

                          It is clear from this decision that the current disciplinary procedures are not fit for purpose. Newcastle United, along with other clubs, have had players suspended for incidents reviewed after the game. Whilst not trivialising these incidents, they were not, in our opinion, of the seriousness of Callum McManaman's tackle on Haidara.

                          Whilst we understand that the current procedures give the FA limited options, it cannot be correct that the most serious offences - those which have the potential to cause another player serious harm - can go unpunished, even if the original incident was seen by match officials.

                          We will now be making a strong representation to the FA and the Premier League to see how a more appropriate, fair and even-handed disciplinary process can be introduced at the earliest opportunity to prevent incidents of this nature going unpunished in the future.

                          Our attentions at this time are firmly with Massadio. He only joined us in January, but in that short time he has impressed us immensely both on and off the field. Massadio was scanned yesterday and will continue to be assessed for the remainder of the week.

                          He will undergo a further scan next week in order to determine the extent of the damage caused. Contrary to comments in the media, there is currently no timescale for his recovery.

                          We would like to thank our fans for their heart-felt messages of support for Massadio. We are passing these messages on to him and we are sure they will help keep his spirits up.

                            MASSADIO HAIDARA INJURY LATEST

                            We can confirm that results of the latest scan on Massadio Haidara show that the player has very fortunately escaped any significant bone or ligament damage following the dangerous tackle by Wigan Athletic's Callum McManaman on Sunday.

                            We are very pleased that the extent of his injury is less severe than first feared and is limited to bruising to the bone and soft tissue damage.

                            Depending on the speed of his recovery he should be fit to play again in early April.

                            Massadio will continue to be assessed over the coming days. He has been very lucky that he has not suffered more serious injury and this positive diagnosis in no way lessens the Club's views with regard to the severity of the tackle from which it resulted.

                              NEWCASTLE UNITED ANNOUNCE ACCOUNTS


                              Newcastle United Football Company Limited has today announced its financial figures for the year end June 2012.

                              After making significant strides towards meeting and exceeding UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations last season, the Club has recorded an overall profit for the second successive year.

                              While last year's figures, which included an overall profit of £32.6m, were significantly boosted by the £35m sale of Andy Carroll to Liverpool, this year's figures give a clearer indication of the Club's positive performance overall with profit after player amortisation standing at £1.4m.

                              The Club has also re-entered the list of the world's top 20 revenue-generating clubs after increasing turnover to £93.3m - representing a 5.4% increase on last year.

                              Turnover has been boosted by last season's strong performance on the field, with a fifth-place finish in the Barclays Premier League swelling TV income by 14.6%. That figure is set to continue rising next year courtesy of improved broadcast agreements.

                              While the average attendance at St. James' Park has risen to 49,936 - an increase of 2,190 on last year, ticket revenue has fallen by 7% after the club froze season ticket prices with its ten and nine-year season ticket deal and continued its commitment to making football affordable through a variety of ticketing initiatives.

                              As a result of these initiatives the Club saw a hugely significant increase in the number of season ticket holders and members. The number of season ticket holders reached its highest level since 2007.

                              Commercial revenue fell by 12.7%, though the latest figures do not include income from the Club's new partnership deal with Wonga. That partnership, which is effective from the 2013/14 season, represents a significant increase on the Club's previous commercial agreements.

                              While operating costs have remained steady at £21.6m, operating profit is down from £13.3m to £7.5m. A key factor is an increase in the Club's wage bill, which has risen by 20% to £64.1m following the signings of a number of key players, including Cabaye, Marveaux, Santon, Ba and Cisse. That puts the Club's wages-to-turnover at 68.7%, an increase of 8.1% on last year.
