Ona svojim rankingom već može da učestvuje na tom završnom turniru ali bi mi bilo dragao da osvoji ovaj Luxemburg sigurno bi joj bio dodatna motivacija ,da prevaziđe tu povredu mada je ona koliko toliko sanirana ,ani još je ona prisutna.Vika idemo.

LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg – If her play so far at the BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open is any indication, Victoria Azarenka will be a force to be reckoned with at next week’s TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships – Istanbul 2011.

Azarenka has given up the least amount of games of Luxembourg’s semifinalists – 12 – with her latest rout being Friday’s 63 62 triumph over Iveta Benesova, her 50th match win of the year. She is now 3-0 all-time against Benesova, never having given up more than three games in a set.

“Iveta is a dangerous player and she played pretty well today, so I really had to earn the points,” Azarenka said. “I didn’t feel like I played my best tennis today, but I’m glad that when I needed to step up my game, I was able to do it.”

The top-seeded Azarenka will try to snap a streak of three straight losses in semifinals when she takes on sixth-seeded Julia Goerges on Saturday.

“It’s obviously going to be a tough match,” Azarenka said. “She’s a very good player and the court suits her well. We played earlier this year, but that was on clay courts. I have to be really focused tomorrow and try to play better than today.”

STANBUL, Turkey – Tennis is traditionally a game of match-ups – Sam Stosur defied that against Maria Sharapova on Tuesday, but against Victoria Azarenka that trend held true, as Azarenka beat Stosur in straight sets for the fifth time in five career meetings, storming past the US Open champion, 62 62.

With her intense and relentless barrage of deep, penetrating groundstrokes, the No.4-seeded Azarenka never really let the No.7-seeded Stosur into the match, losing just five points in seven service games and breaking four times in building a 62 52 lead. Stosur put up a fight in a 10-minute final game, saving three match points – including two on big inside out forehand winners – but Azarenka wrapped up the one-hour, 17-minute win on her fourth match point.

“I feel great. I wasn’t expecting to play so well in my first match here,” Azarenka said in her on-court interview. “It was getting close in the end, we had a really close last game. Sam started to really go for every shot with nothing to lose, and I backed up a little bit. She made some incredible shots. But I stayed strong. I had to work for it. I’m glad I finished it now.

“I served very well today and I wish I can continue to play like this.”

Stosur had turned the tables on an 0-9 head-to-head against Sharapova, but the winners-to-errors differentials were different from Tuesday (Stosur was 18-17, Sharapova was 17-30) to Wednesday (Stosur was 11-26, Azarenka was 16-13).

Coming into this year’s TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships, Azarenka seems to also be drawing motivation from her two previous appearances at the year-end finale, where she was halted in the round robin portion both times.

“It’s very different from any other event,” Azarenka said at her All-Access Hour interviews Monday. “You have to be focused on every match, and even every game – sometimes even the games make a difference to get out of the round robin here. From the beginning it will be really difficult, so you have to give it your all in every match you play. You have to be 100% every moment.”

Azarenka has now won six matches in a row, all in straight sets – she won all five matches in straight sets en route to her third WTA title of the year just last week at the BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open over in Luxembourg.

Zboravio sam da napisem za pobjednu Bartoli ,Azarenka je pocela lose probudila se osvojila prvi set i na kraju izgubila ,ali nije igrala loše.
Danas sa Zvonarjevom je bila odlična imal je malih padova ali na svu srecu rezlutat joj je bio naklonjen itekako u tim trenutcima.Očekujem sutra pobjedu.
STANBUL, Turkey – After a tough loss in her last round robin match, all eyes were on how she would rebound in her semifinal – and she delivered. Victoria Azarenka was as solid as a rock in the semifinals of the TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships Saturday, overcoming Vera Zvonareva – one of her most difficult opponents – comfortably in straight sets, 62 63.

Azarenka seemed unstoppable as she beat Li Na and Sam Stosur handily in her first two round robin matches. But she stumbled against Marion Bartoli in her third – though she had won seven of their eight previous meetings she never looked comfortable during a 57 64 64 defeat to the Frenchwoman, who was an alternate in Istanbul, replacing an injured Maria Sharapova.

“I really tried to change my mentality from yesterday. It was a bit of a disaster,” she said. “I’m glad I turned it around and came out strong.”

Come out strong she did, breaking serve three times en route to taking the first set, including once at love. There were some tough moments in the 59-minute second set, including a marathon six-deuce fourth game where Zvonareva defied four break points to hold for 2-all. But Azarneka grabbed a late break and served it out, just her fourth win in their 10 meetings.

Now Azarenka is one win away from arguably her biggest career title – her biggest triumphs to date come at the Premier-level Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, where she has twice lifted the trophy (2009 and this year).

Awaiting the No.4-ranked Azarenka in the final will be No.3-ranked Petra Kvitova, who rallied from 75 10 down to beat Samantha Stosur in the first semifinal of the day, 57 63 63 (read more about Kvitova-Stosur here).

Not only will the TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships title be on the line, but the winner will also rise to a new career-high ranking of No.2.

“Tomorrow is about sudden death,” Azarenka said in her on-court interview. “It’s the last match at a very important tournament. It’s the first time in the final for both of us and we both want to win. It’ll take everything out of us and I hope we can show the best tennis we can.”

Kvitova leads Azarenka in their head-to-head series, 3-2. Azarenka won their first two meetings, but Kvitova has won their last three in a row.
