Fernando Verdasco will not defend the title won in Barcelona last year, will participate, however, in the Estoril tournament that starts next week. Turns out, he said, the Conde de Godo have not shown enough interest in her tennis. "You have to ask the Barcelona tournament officials, who decide which players want to have," said Verdasco in Madrid during the presentation of the Master Mutual 1000 Madrid Open.
"Rafa Godo play again and there was a person, I do not know if it's good or not telling the name, it seemed that there was little interest in jugase me," said Verdasco, who said that Albert Costa, tournament director , there was no problem. "On the contrary," he said. "I do not like going places, and especially in Spain, if they have no interest in me. In Estoril were very interested in me to play and go to Estoril," said Verdasco will change a tournament like Barcelona 500 by 250 and Portuguese. "I do not mind losing all the points but to be comfortable," he said.
"It hurts me that in Spain things happen they happen. It is time to get dirty, but it hurts me and other athletes, so no one is going to die," said Verdasco to brighten your mood. "I do more damage than usual by the fact that last year I won," he continued. "In 2010, Nadal dropped out at the last moment, and called me because as the Godo tournament could not run out of number one and number two in Spanish, and I was coming to contest the final in Monte Carlo, did the effort and played. And I won. Not lost in first or second round. "
"This year I have not been respected. I'm not spiteful, but sad and disappointed with that person or persons who are responsible," said Verdasco. "And I had caught players like Tsonga Soderling and it seems to give priority to foreign players on the Spanish and that's a mistake."
The tournament organizers have been surprised by the statements of the player, said he remains welcome and confident that the player agrees to defend his title in Madrid from next March 18. "We are happy to come and play Fernando Verdasco in Barcelona," said the president of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona, Albert Agustí. The tournament director, Albert Costa, said participating in the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell and stressed that they have had a good relationship with all players: "It's a shame that Fernando consider the possibility of not compete in Barcelona, but we all I can add is that, as a champion of the tournament at all times we have tried very correct. "
The tournament will be seven of the best players in the world: Rafael Nadal (1), Andy Murray (4) Robin Soderling (5) David Ferrer (6), Tomas Berdych (7), Jurgen Melzer (9) and Gael Monfils (10).

Here's the most remarkable thing to me about Federer: Seems to me that the more you know about tennis, the more amazed you are by the guy. If you know nothing at all about tennis, he's amazing. If you know a little something about tennis—maybe you have played a few times in your life—he's more amazing. If you know a little more about tennis—maybe you played in high school and once had illusions of becoming a pro—he's even MORE amazing. And if you were a great player—if you are a McEnroe or a Connors or a Jim Courier—then Federer is preposterously amazing

Verdasco upset with Barcelona Open officials
Defending champion Fernando Verdasco is upset with Barcelona Open officials for failing to hold a wild card for him. Officials countered that the world No. 8 had plenty of time to directly enter the main draw. The Spaniard will instead play in Estoril, Portugal.
"The reason I’m not going Barcelona -- ask the tournament officials who decide who they want to play," Verdasco said. "Nadal is coming back and there’s a person whom I’m not going to say who it is, but who has had no interest in me playing. I hate going places, especially in Spain, where they are not interested who plays. In Estoril, they are."
Verdasco is also upset that wildcards were handed out to non-Spaniards and added that the tournament doesn’t appreciate him even though he made a big effort to play it last year after Nadal pulled out.
"I am not vindictive or anything, but sad and disappointed with certain people who are responsible and Albert [Costa] because he has given priority to foreign players like Tsonga Soderling instead of Spanish [players] and I think that is a mistake," he said. Costa, who is also Spain’s Davis Cup captain, said that Verdasco is still welcome at the event.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfzsyKXSs-Y

USTA moves Orange Bowl to clay
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The U.S. Tennis Association is moving the Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships back to clay courts this year.
The junior tournament will be played Dec. 5-11 at the Frank Veltri Tennis Center in Plantation, Fla. It's been held on hard courts in Key Biscayne since 1998; before that, it was played on clay in Miami Beach.
USTA Player Development general manager Patrick McEnroe said Wednesday he likes the switch to green clay because "if you play more on clay as a youngster, you'll become just a better all-around player."
The Orange Bowl includes singles and doubles events for boys and girls in 18-and-under and 16-and-under divisions.
Past winners include Roger Federer, Bjorn Borg, Ivan Lendl, Andy Roddick, Chris Evert and Anna Kournikova.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfzsyKXSs-Y
