      Here's the most remarkable thing to me about Federer: Seems to me that the more you know about tennis, the more amazed you are by the guy. If you know nothing at all about tennis, he's amazing. If you know a little something about tennis—maybe you have played a few times in your life—he's more amazing. If you know a little more about tennis—maybe you played in high school and once had illusions of becoming a pro—he's even MORE amazing. And if you were a great player—if you are a McEnroe or a Connors or a Jim Courier—then Federer is preposterously amazing

                    Sto ocekujes? Da svako razumije da Nadal ima super FH tehniku za ono sto zeli njime da postigne. Federer i Nadal ne postizu isti cilj FH-dom. Nadalova tehnika FH-a je potpuno neprikladna za Federerov nacin igre. Vazi i obrat.

                      • Gluposti, ukidaju tu razliku na svim GS-ovima. Nekad je i zanimljivo gledati tu psiholosku borbu u odlucujucem setu na razliku. Na RG nema, W je ukinuo isto, jos ako sad promena i na AO onda bezveze bas. Ne zam samo kako ide na USO cini mi se da je i tamo TB u 5. setu

                          Ne očekujem puno, samo da nas profesionalni teniseri i teniserke poštede ovakvih gluposti.

                          A kada za igrača koji od 30 udaraca forhendom njih 29 udari 'sweet spotom', kažeš da ima tehnički loš ili pogrešan forhend, onda je to glupost teže kategorije, posebno kad uzmemo u obzir sve ono što je u Rafa stanju odigrati tim udarcem. Paralele, dijagonale, pogađanje najskrivenijih dijelova terena i korištenje svih dimenzija istog. Savršena kontrola svake vrste udaraca, bilo da je u pitanju slajs ili spin, bilo da se nalazi u terenu ili pet metara iza njega, bilo da treba pogoditi skraćenu forhend dijagonalu, običnu dijagonalu ili forhend paralelu u sami ugao terena. Loša tehnika se može kamuflirati samo do određene mjere, ali ne do te da od svog udarca napraviš jedan od najboljih forhenda i generalno udaraca ikada. I da, Svetlana bi to morala znati bez da ga uopšte i mora porediti sa Federerom.

                          Postoje različite tehnike udaraca, koje su, uprkos svojim različitostima, podjednako učinkovite. I njihove razlike ne čine neke od njih ispravnijim u odnosu na druge ili obrnuto. Nalbandian je imao najsavršeniju tehniku dvoručnog bekenda koju sam ikada vidio, najfluidniji 'motion' ikada i najveću kreativnost iz tog udarca, što opet tehniku Đokovića, Nishikorija, Safina i ostalih vrhunskih 2HBHandera ne čini pogrešnom ili lošom, samo drugačijom. A ako je je jedna tehnika udarca drugačija u odnosu na drugu, to opet ne znači da je pogrešna, što je još jedna od stvari koju bi Svetlana morala znati.

                          • Ko zna da li je mislila bas tako. Cinjenica je da njegov forhend nije "skolski" udarac, a sad to i nije bitno ako radi onako kako je zamislio.

                            • Ne mogu govoriti o tome šta je mislila, zato se osvrćem na ono što je rekla.

                              Jer, ako je Federerov forhend prototip savršene tehnike forhenda, onda su svi drugi forhendi pogrešni s obzirom da je Rogerova tehnika tog udarca tako jedinstvena da je teško da će ikad više biti viđena. Jednako toliko je jedinstvena i tehnika Rafe Nadala.

                              Pitanje je šta je školski forhend kada znamo da se tehnika svakog igrača razlikuje od druge? Ne postoji, jer se van osnovnih elemenata u vidu hvata gripa, kvalitetnog zamaha, izmaha i follow througha, sve ostalo zasniva na ličnom razvijanju tehnike adekvatne nečijem stilu, fizionomiji ruke, tijela i zgloba, te samom talentu i mogućnostima da proizvedeš ono što zamisliš. Ono što jedan udarac čini kvalitetnim jesu mogućnosti šta sa njim možeš da izvedeš, a to je ono što zavisi ponajviše od kvaliteta tvoje tehnike, odnosno talenta koji ti omogućava tu tehniku. Treba li nabrajati ono što sa svojim forhendom može izvesti Rafael Nadal sa jedne, a Benoit Paire, Richard Gasquet ili Borna Ćorić s druge strane?

                              Igrač koji Federerove slajsove kupi kao rukom i plasira po bilo kojem dijelu terena, koji može pogoditi šta želi bez obzira nalazio se dva metra u terenu ili pet metara iza njega, te kome su neiznuđene greške u svemu tome svedene na minimum, nije igrač kome se na bilo koji način može spočitavati da ima tehnički nepravilan udarac, posebno ako uzmemo u obzir da je to jedan od najboljih teniskih udaraca svih vremena.
