Ukupno 49. u karijeri i još jedna je dela do društva sa 50 i više WTA titula! Samo 9 igračica je u tom klubu, a Serena bi svakako trebalo da uđe i da prestigne neke, samo da je povrede zaobiđu i nastavi u ovom ritmu.

Williams, who has now won 71 of 75 matches since the start of last year's clay court season, won her third Family Circle Cup title - she won the Premier-level clay court event in 2008 and 2012 as well.

Williams now has 49 WTA titles. Only nine women have won 50 or more WTA titles, namely Martina Navratilova (167), Chris Evert (154), Steffi Graf (107), Margaret Court (92), Evonne Goolagong-Cawley (68), Billie Jean King (67), Lindsay Davenport (55), Virginia Wade (55) and Monica Seles (53).

Williams is the only player ever to win clay court titles on three different colors of clay, though.

"This court is definitely different from last year," she said. "It definitely plays more like Roland Garros, so I think that's a plus. It's a little slower than it was last year and plays more like a true clay court. So I think it's great preparation. It's definitely a good start in the right direction. I feel good about it."

Is that right direction winning the French Open? "It is the ultimate challenge," she said. "Whether I reach it, I don't know. I'm not going to put that pressure on myself. I wanted to do it last year and I didn't get it. So this year I'm just looking forward to Rome, and then after that Roland Garros. We'll see."

Things are looking up for a second Roland Garros title for Serena Williams. Her lone title there came after her first title in Rome in 2002, and she just secured her second Rome title on Sunday. On top of that, she has never been hotter going into the French Open - as she is in the midst of a personal-best 24-match win streak and has a better pre-Roland Garros record than she has ever had.
