Partizan Belgrade has been one of the most exciting teams to watch over the past several seasons, despite often playing with one of the youngest squads in the Euroleague. This season the club again presents an exciting roster that will be pushed by Belgrade’s basketball-mad supporters as it aims to reach the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 – at a minimum – for the sixth straight season. Last year the perennial Serbian and Adriatic League champions missed the Euroleague playoffs for the first time in four years, but armed with one of the toughest home floors in Europe, Partizan is an automatic playoff contender again this time. There has been some roster changeover this season, but the Black and Whites of Belgrade have head coach Vlade Jovanovic in charge for the second straight year, some important pieces back from last season, important new additions – including former Partizan stud and two-time All Euroleague selection Nikola Pekovic – as well as some of the game’s best young prospects, all of whom promise to make Partizan once again a contender for big things.

Year in and year out Partizan has one of the biggest rosters in the competition and this season its size starts at the point guard position. Acie Law is very quick for his size and adept at generating offense both through his great court vision and passing as well as penetrating to the hoop. Just as important though is Law’s commitment to defense too. His back-up, Petar Bozic, is a coach's right hand on the floor, the team captain and a tall point guard whose leadership and defense is invaluable to the team. He will have plenty of opportunity to teach this season, as the Partizan backcourt options include talented youngsters like Bogdan Bogdanovic, Nemanja Jaramaz, Danilo Andjusic and the youngest of all Nenad Miljenovic. Every minute they spend on the floor this season might be valuable for their future, and for the future of the club. One of the key figures on the team is Dusan Kecman, former Euroleague champion with Panathinaikos, who adds experience on the perimeter. Partizan relies on his versatility on offense combined with his clutch shot-making ability. Dragan Milosaljevic begins his second Euroleague season is a dangerous shooter, who also adds size to the shooting guard position on offense and defense. Another player coming off a first full Euroleague season is Vladimir Lucic, whose athleticism at the small forward position on both ends of the floor pays dividends. Rookie forward Marko Cakarevic adds more depth and possesses ball handling and shooting skills that as a great addition on offense.

Partizan traditionally plays off its strength in the paint and this year will be no different. The team is stacked at the center position with Pekovic, who is back after three years. The big man, who is former All-Euroleague First Team selection and a 2009 Euroleague champion with Panathinaikos, is one of the most dominant Europeans players at his position. Another big addition is Miroslav Raduljica, who brings his great offensive talents and will be a big threat inside and also on the perimeter. Rasko Katic returns for his second season with the club and provides even more size, strength, rebounding and scoring, while teenager Nemanja Besovic and his 2.18-meter frame eagerly waits to show what he is capable of. Alongside them is long power forward Branislav Djekic, who brings outstanding three-point accuracy and will try to rebound from a shaky season to look like the elite prospect he was viewed as just two years ago.

No matter how young or inexperienced the roster has been in the past, Partizan’s leave-it-all-on-the-floor approach and the never-ending encouragement from its fans has made Partizan a tough match-up for any team – especially in Belgrade. This season, with additional pieces who know what it takes to go all the way, the Black and Whites look ready for another spectacular Euroleague season.
