Arsenal Football Club will commemorate Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day for the match against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The entire Arsenal team will wear a special one-off shirt with a poppy embroidered into the Club’s home kit for the fixture.

In honour of the many servicemen and women who have given their lives for peace the special shirts will be used for fundraising purposes, with the proceeds raised being donated to The Royal British Legion.

Arsenal Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis said: “We are proud and honoured that the team will be wearing special shirts with embroidered poppies for the match against West Brom on Saturday.

“It’s extremely important that as a Club, we pay our respects to the many servicemen and women who’ve given their lives for peace, and also ex-service and those who are currently serving.

“The response in recent seasons from Arsenal supporters to our special poppy shirts has been phenomenal and we hope that we can once again raise vital funds for this worthwhile cause.”

Following Saturday’s match, each shirt will be signed by the respective player and auctioned in aid of The Royal British Legion, an organisation which supports servicemen and women together with their families.

Further details on how to bid for one of the special shirts will appear next week on Arsenal.com and in future Arsenal publications.

West Bromwich Albion are also actively also raising funds for The Royal British Legion, with the entire team wearing special poppy shirts for their recent home match against Liverpool on Saturday, October 29.

Arsenal supporters will be able to obtain poppies and donate to The Royal British Legion on Saturday through the many poppy collectors who will be present at Emirates Stadium.
