MetroArsenal ‘to make £44million transfer offer for Juventus dynamo Arturo Vidal’
Arsenal are reportedly preparing a £44m offer for Juventus powerhouse Arturo Vidal as Arsene Wenger looks to beef up his midfield options.
The Gunners are already resigning themselves to starting the new season without the injured Abou Diaby, while Mikel Arteta could depart for Athletic Bilbao.
Wenger does not want to be caught short in the middle of the park, and the Chilean media reports Arsenal are now looking into a deal for Vidal.
Manchester United are known to be big admirers of the 27-year-old, but he has made it clear he wouldn’t sign for a club that is not playing in the Champions League.
Juventus are under no pressure to sell one of their leading lights, but Arsenal could offer as much as £44m to try and do business.
Vidal, famed for his powerful midfield displays, can operate as either a defensive midfielder or as a box-to-box dynamo – and he would add significant power and steel to Arsenal’s midfield.sigpic
