The Coca-Cola 600 is an annual 600-mile (965.606 km) NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points race held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina during Memorial Day weekend. The event, when first held in 1960, became the first race to be held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Run since 1960, it is the longest race on NASCAR's schedule at 600 miles (956.606 km). It is also unique for the fact that the race changes drastically from start to finish. It starts around 6:20 PM in full sunlight, and the track is bathed in sunlight for the first third of the race. The second third happens at dusk, and the race is under the lights by the end.

Dale Earnhardt's grandson Jeffrey enters Brands Hatch Euro NASCAR



Dale Earnhardt's grandson Jeffrey Earnhardt will race in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Earnhardt currently competes in NASCAR's second-tier Xfinity Series.

The 25-year-old's Brands Hatch outing will be the first time that a driver from one of NASCAR's three main American championships has competed in its European arm.

"This is my first time racing in England and I'm really excited to have this opportunity," said Earnhardt.

"Should be a lot of fun to see all the race fans in England."

Earnhardt's appearance follows NASCAR Euro champion Anthony Kumpen's recent outing in a round of NASCAR's K&N Pro Series regional championship in America.

NASCAR Euro Series chief Jerome Galpin added: "The Earnhardt family is one of the most famous in motorsport and it demonstrates, once again, the close relationship between the European and American NASCAR series.

"More and more drivers are crossing the ocean: Euro drivers to race NASCAR in the USA and US drivers to join the Euro-NASCAR pack."

Ex-single-seater racer and double series champion Ander Vilarino currently leads the NASCAR Euro points from Eddie Cheever, son of the ex-Formula 1 and IndyCar racer of the same name.
