In years past, before the three "other" aliens, he was a bit more playful with the grid, toying around in 2nd or 3rd at most of the races knowing he was going to catch up with the rest.
The last two years, we have seen him change his racing style a bit, and getting in front at the outset (he knows he can't let the other three take off, because he won't catch them like he used to with the likes of Biaggi and Gibbers). His starts have also greatly improved compared to three years ago.
These changes show his respect for the young ones and more importantly, shows he is capable of adapting and improving still.
