Here's the most remarkable thing to me about Federer: Seems to me that the more you know about tennis, the more amazed you are by the guy. If you know nothing at all about tennis, he's amazing. If you know a little something about tennis—maybe you have played a few times in your life—he's more amazing. If you know a little more about tennis—maybe you played in high school and once had illusions of becoming a pro—he's even MORE amazing. And if you were a great player—if you are a McEnroe or a Connors or a Jim Courier—then Federer is preposterously amazing

Marian Vajda: 'Novak Djokovic is almost back'

Marian Vajda didn't speak to any media after splitting with Novak Djokovic in May 2017. He, however, spoke to the press at the Monte Carlo Masters since rejoining with the Serbian.

When asked if Djokovic was truly back, in the aftermath of his pre-quarter-final defeat to Dominic Thiem, Vajda understatedly remarked, 'Almost. We trained hard. Novak still needs matches, matches, matches. The Tour needs Novak, right? Thiem played very well out there. His shots are big. What impresses the most is that he can hit regardless of any bounce he is facing.'

Before partnering with Djokovic, the Slovakian had rejected coaching requests from other players on the Tour, as well as the Davis Cup captaincy of the Slovakian team. 'Dominic Hrbaty wanted the job so much, (but) I left him!', he joked. He coached his daughter Natalia, who aims to start a tennis career. About previously being associated with Djokovic, Vajda stated, 'I like to coach, learn. It's interesting. I already gave Novak all that I could.'

But apparently, he can still bring something to the Serbian. They will work together until the end of the clay-court season.
